Model Elizabeth Hurley receives a diamond and sapphire engagement ring

British model Elizabeth Hurley has received a diamond and sapphire engagement ring from former Australian cricketer Shane Warne that has invited comparisons with the famous similar ring that Princess Diana received from Prince Charles in 1981.

Warne proposed to the Estée Lauder model, aged 45, on Sunday, according to press reports in Britain.

The ring features a square sapphire flanked by a diamond on either side.
