Underground mining at Argyle – Major metrics

Rio Tinto is currently building an underground mine to access the diamond ore deep below the open pit, where the diamond vein is narrower and deeper.

This is a large, complex, block cave project that has required A$1.6 Billion investment from Rio Tinto.
